Road to the Summit: First of 16 Regional Forums kicks off in San Diego
Participants of the 2013 San Diego and Imperial Valley Regional Economic Development Forum took part in an interactive survey and discussion designed to prioritize policy matters in the areas of workforce, innovation, infrastructure, regulatory process and capital.
Read about the Terms and Policies referenced in the survey.
Hosted by San Diego Gas & Electric

The forum highlighted projects that illustrate how local assets, policies and economic development tools led to successes and job growth. Presenters covered the hurdles and challenges they encountered along the way, and how they successfully addressed each issue. The audience used voting devices to prioritize policy matters in the areas of workforce, innovation, infrastructure, regulatory process, and capital. An interesting case study around the Sunrise Powerlink helped close the morning session by showing how one project can impact job growth throughout an entire mega-region. This event was one of 15 local forums taking place across California. The discussion points will be summarized into recommendations that will set the agenda for a statewide event in December 2013 in Los Angeles.
